When the President Calls His Opponents “Seditious” — And Demands Their Execution

By Patty @ Politically POMP Over the last year, we’ve watched the line between political disagreement and political persecution blur at an alarming rate. But today’s moment is something different. It’s something darker. It’s something we cannot normalize. Then today, President Trump posted (or amplified) multiple messages calling Democratic lawmakers “seditious,” followed by the phrase: Continue reading

When Did Protecting Pedophiles Become Partisan?

The fight over the Epstein files has exposed something deeply broken in our politics: protecting children is no longer a universal moral standard, but a partisan calculation. When outrage disappears the moment someone’s preferred politician may be implicated, it’s not justice we’re defending, it’s the system that shields the powerful. Continue reading

🌍 The World Is Watching: How America’s Global Standing Has Shifted Since Trump’s Return

The world is watching the United States with growing concern. Since Trump returned to office, global trust in American leadership has dropped sharply, and longtime allies are openly questioning whether the U.S. is still reliable, democratic, or stable. Our internal chaos is no longer just our own; it’s reshaping how the world sees us. Continue reading

🌹 What Democratic Socialism Actually Means (and Why It’s Not Communism)

By Patty @ Politically POMP There’s been a huge uptick lately in people using the words “democratic socialism” and “communism” interchangeably, usually as an insult, a scare tactic, or just a misunderstanding. And since this is the political lane I identify with, I figured today is the perfect day to clear the air. Let’s break Continue reading

    When the Mask Comes Off

By Patty @ Politically POMP There’s something deeply unsettling about watching the country you love slowly twist into something unrecognizable, and seeing people cheer it on. I keep asking myself: how did we get here? How did we reach a point where federal agents can drag people from their homes in the dead of night, where Continue reading

    One Voice, One Vote

By Patty @ Politically POMP Reimagining Democracy for the Modern Age Every election cycle, millions of Americans cast ballots and hope the people they elect will carry their voices into the halls of power. Yet somewhere between campaign promises and policymaking, that voice often fades. We find ourselves governed not by the will of the Continue reading

Why I’m an Independent (Even When I Lean Liberal)

By Patty @ Politically POMP Every election season brings the same pressure: pick a side. Red or blue. Left or right. Democrat or Republican. As if our entire civic worth depends on which color we check on a ballot. But I’ve never quite fit neatly into any of those boxes. People often assume that because Continue reading

The Silent Storm: What the Numbers Aren’t Telling Us About America’s Economy

By Patty @ Politically POMP It’s getting harder to ignore the unease rippling through the country. Grocery prices feel heavier. Paychecks stretch thinner. The headlines keep promising a “temporary slowdown,” yet every family, small business, and worker seems to be tightening their belts a little more. But what makes this moment different isn’t just the Continue reading

It’s Not Just Trump — It’s the System

By Politically POMP It’s tempting to believe the chaos began with one man, that if we could just remove him, everything would go back to normal. It’s a comforting story, one that gives us a clear villain to blame and a simple ending to hope for. But the truth is harder to face: the cracks Continue reading

One Voice, One Vote: The Next Evolution of Democracy

By Patty Doran | Politically Pomp For as long as I can remember, we’ve been told that democracy is built on the idea that every voice matters. Yet somewhere along the way, that promise began to feel like an illusion. We vote every few years, cast our ballots for people we barely know, and then Continue reading

About Me

Hi, I’m Patty Doran, the voice behind Politically Pomp, a space where politics meets plain talk and citizens reclaim their seat at the table.

I’m not a politician, a pundit, or a lobbyist. I’m a mom, a small business owner, and an everyday American who’s tired of watching power and money drown out common sense and compassion. This blog isn’t about left or right, it’s about what’s right for the people.

Here, I unpack policies, challenge narratives, and ask the questions too many of our leaders avoid. My goal is to cut through the noise, focus on solutions, and spark honest conversation about how we can rebuild a government that truly serves us, not the other way around.

Politically Pomp is driven by one simple belief: democracy only works when the people do. So let’s get informed, get involved, and get loud, respectfully, intelligently, and unapologetically.
